This week is my son's week. He completed his very first season of t-ball and the coach bought them trophies out of his own pocket. Now, these aren't your typical plastic trophies. His dude is like an action figure! You can move the arms and everything! I think I was more impressed with it than he was. That was really sweet of Coach to do that for the kids. Also, he was chosen to be Studen of the Week this week at school! What that means is he gets to take the class mascot home, a stuffed bulldog named Champ. The class will learn how to spell my son's name and then they will all learn to write it. Currently they can only write their own names. Then tomorrow, he doesn't know this yet, but I am going to go have lunch with him and his class during their lunch time. It should be fun.
Getting back to Champ the bulldog. The kids are supposed to take Champ home and love him and play with him and take him places and do fun things so that they (the parents) can write a summary of Champs adventures with the Student of the Week. Fun right? Unless you come to our house. My son took him out of the bag when he got home and never touched the thing again. He didn't even want it near his bed at night. He didn't want to play with it or even pretend to play with it so we could get some pictures. He just wasn't having it. He was pretty excited about it when he got it home on Friday. But like everything else, that was short lived.

So what's a Mom to do when it's time to write the report about what a great time Champ had at our house? Well, Mom just said that Champ had a lot of "long naps" :)
